Transfield Services awarded A$140 million of new contracts

Transfield Services has maintained its momentum of contract wins, announcing a further combined A$140 million worth of contracts across its Australian and international operations. These include:

  • Chevron has exercised an option to take a new build Advantage™ service rig. This is now the third rig Chevron has sourced from Transfield Services’ well services and construction business, Easternwell.

  • Easternwell, has also secured a A$21 million contract to provide Santos with camp management services throughout its Cooper and Surat Basin operations. The three-year term began this month and includes two one-year extension options which would take the total value to A$35 million. The contract increases the number of camps that Easternwell manages for Santos in the region.

  • Transfield Worley Power Services (TWPS) – a Transfield Services joint venture - has been awarded a new three-year contract with Verve Energy to provide maintenance services at its Muja and Kwinana Power Stations in Western Australia. Work began this month. In 2011 TWPS renewed its long-term contract with Verve Energy to operate and maintain Collie Power Station, also located in Western Australia.

  • A $40 million, 18-month contract with South East Water Recycled Water Alliance (SERWA) to design, construct, operate and maintain an advanced water recycling plant for South East Water at Mount Martha, Victoria.

  • A new contract awarded to Transfield Services subsidiary, Broadspectrum, with BHP Billiton to provide 24/7 electrical cabling reclaim and installation services at its Olympic Dam underground mine in South Australia. Broadspectrum is a specialised, multi-discipline electrical, commissioning, mechanical and instrumentation services company operating in the construction, energy and mining industries.

  • A new three-year contract to provide mechanical and site preparation work for a multinational oil and gas operator. The work includes the installation of equipment and pipelines on a single site in the continental United States.

“Our strategy is delivering clear growth and financial gain across the Australia and New Zealand business, and we’re further developing our capability and client base in the Americas” said Transfield Services Managing Director and CEO Peter Goode.

The newly announced work demonstrates the Company’s continued ability to secure long-term contracts with blue chip public sector and private clients.
