Broadspectrum and Cadagua join forces to pursue water projects

Ferrovial Group companies Broadspectrum and Cadagua have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly pursue the design, construction, operations and maintenance of complex water and wastewater treatment assets in Australia and New Zealand.

Broadspectrum is already a leader in the Australasian water market in the provision of asset improvement, maintenance and operation services to utility clients including SA Water, Gippsland Water, Water Corporation, Queensland Urban Utilities, and South East Water in Australia, and to Watercare and Far North District Council in New Zealand.

Cadagua is a global leader in the provision of design, process engineering, construction and operation services to complex water, wastewater, advanced water treatment and desalination plants. The company’s client footprint extends across Europe, North America and the Middle East.

Broadspectrum’s Chief Executive, Urban Infrastructure, Sandra Dodds foresees this agreement as highly significant for the industry, and said: “We are very excited about the opportunity to work within our group of companies, with Cadagua, and combine their process engineering and operations capability with Broadspectrum’s local presence and track record in asset improvement and maintenance. We look forward to working closely on several forthcoming Design and Construction and Design-Build-Operate-Maintain projects.”

Cadagua’s Managing Director, Pablo Riesco is equally excited about the opportunity of broadening the organisation’s presence in the Pacific, and said “We are confident that Cadagua will contribute to the growth of the Ferrovial Group in the Australian water infrastructure market by providing advance technical solutions which are sustainable, innovative and cost-effective.”

The Ferrovial group, including Broadspectrum and Cadagua, delivers essential services in the desalination and water treatment industries across Australia, Chile, China, Cyprus, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States.

Cadagua has designed and built more than 200 plants (sewage, drinking and desalination), has a total treatment capacity of more than 15 million m3/day, and provides access to water for approximately 21 million people.
