Broadspectrum welcomes new Chief Executive, Resources

Broadspectrum has appointed Tim Phelan as Chief Executive, Resources.

Tim is responsible for building Broadspectrum’s business in the oil and gas, mining, industrial, well servicing and agricultural industries across Australia and New Zealand. He is also responsible for the company’s Centre of Excellence for Natural Resources.

Having first joined the company in 2002, Tim has held senior roles across the Australian and Americas businesses. He has most recently led our Operations North and Easternwell businesses, securing long-term contracts with Shell/QGC, BHP and Chevron. He also led the establishment of the Centre of Excellence for Natural Resources and actively supports our Elevate Reconciliation Action Plan as a member of our Indigenous Advisory Board.

Chief Executive, Resources, Tim Phelan said: “We are continually developing and delivering innovative technical solutions to our customers in the Resources sector. This includes using data analytics to optimise productivity and costs, virtual reality to improve safety in virtual real-world scenarios without the risk, and using drones to inspect assets as we leverage the life-cycle of assets to better maximise our customer’s asset investment.”

Broadspectrum’s Resources sector includes services to the upstream, midstream and downstream hydrocarbons production and processing industries. The company supports liquefied natural gas facilities, refining, coal seam gas production and hydrocarbons storage.

In the mining sub-sector, Broadspectrum delivers site-wide services including asset management and maintenance, facilities management, logistics, rail, and electrical services to support large, complex and demanding projects.

Broadspectrum provides asset, facilities and project management services to the industrial sub-sector underpinned by lean methodology, business efficiency improvements and lifecycle asset management planning.

Through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Easternwell, the company delivers drilling, well servicing and camp management services across Australia.

Underpinned by more than 40 years of experience, Broadspectrum has long-term relationships with clients including Arrow Energy, BHP Billiton, BlueScope Steel, ExxonMobil, Inpex, and Shell QGC.
