Easternwell shares expertise at mental health conference
Easternwell shared its industry-learnings gained from delivering health and well-being programs to its employees at the Workplace Mental Health Symposium in Brisbane in September.
The event was the inaugural symposium led by the Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association, and was attended by human resource professionals, business leaders and mental health workers.
Easternwell’s Wellness Coordinator and Accredited Practising Dietitian, Liam Brennan, who leads the health and well-being programs said: “It was a great opportunity to learn from, and present to leaders from a wide range of industries and share how we support mental health in our workplaces.”
“I was pleased to present on the importance of health and wellbeing in the resources industry, some of the challenges we face and key initiatives we are implementing to improve the mental health of our workforce.”
Employees have access to several initiatives within the company to support their mental health, including free access to the company’s Employee Assistance Program, a Flexibility Policy that enables employees to create more work-life-balance, and a health and well-being program that provides employees with educational resources, access to support services, face-to-face consultations and a variety of other initiatives aimed at improving our employees’ physical activity, nutrition, financial support and mental health.
